Advanced Community Education will make it easy for you to learn.
Courses are created with you, fun, and excitement in mind!
The first thing that Advanced Community Education wants you to understand is that courses are based on the educational philosophy that we need to test new learning against our old beliefs and incorporate it into our existing knowledge structures. We are not blank slates.
We are transforming from what we are doing now to what we want to do based on what we now know. You are growing.
The second thing that we want you to understand is that to create real change, we need to assess our individual current ways of doing and then identify areas to improve. You are growing more.
Once we understand areas to improve through assessment, the courses will then provide opportunities for interactions and socialization. You are growing more and more.
At this point, the courses will help you to identify the appropriate strategies to address the areas to improve. You are growing more and more and even more!
The next thing that the course will help to do is for you to implement those identified strategies. The courses will provide guided questions for reflection and to create action to move forward. You are growing more and more and even more and now you are talking about it with those who are also growing!
In addition to delivering information through the courses, the focus is on sharing ideas and engaging in the construction of knowledge. Learning and growing together that will impact the way that you do.
Advanced Community Education will bring together a community of people who have shared interests and who will grow and develop through conversation and social knowledge.
A module is like planning a vacation day trip to the beach – prepare to bring your favorite items and family, get up early and hop into the car, turn on your favorite music, drive with your windows open to smell the fresh air and fell the breeze on your face, arrive at the beach and enjoy the feel of the sand between your toes and the lovely blue ocean in front of you … the smells, the warmth, the touches, the taste of salt air, the sun so bright that you put your sunglasses on -
you anticipate, you think, you analyze, you reflect, you synthesize, you believe, you grow …
Advanced Community Education courses will vary from a one time session to 12 week sessions. A course may be 2 live sessions, held on a Saturday, with ongoing conversations between the 2 sessions using the platform of a social forum in the course.
Reflections expose values and relationships
Courses are offered through an online medium to login and then to learn.
Advanced Community Education course evaluations will be completed at the end of each ACE course in the effort to find out the effectiveness of each course/module/sessions. Advanced Community Education has goals to meet and we want to be sure that those goals are met. How Advanced Community Education develops will be how the community would like to see it develop.
Advanced Community Education will ask that you set up an account. The account will include information that will allow access to a particular ACE course.
Advanced Community Education suggests six ways to enhance your learning.
When you are preparing for the Module session, the first thing is to set aside the appropriate time for yourself.
The second thing to do is take the time in a room away from others with your laptop or computer to learn.
The third thing to check is to ensure your lighting is appropriate.
The fourth thing is to light your favorite scented candle.
The fifth thing to take care of is to have a fresh glass of water and a bowl of fruit next to you, maybe some chocolate.
The sixth thing to take care of is to turn on your favorite soft background music.
Each module will allow you to assess, learn strategies, converse through guided questions, reflect, and evaluate.

Forums
A social forum through moodle is a form of conversation through use of technology and online learning. A social forum will be organized for specific face to face trainings and it will be monitored frequently. The social forum will provide a trusted online area, participation of those who you met the day of your training, and it will give you the opportunity to share stories and ask questions.
