DIR/Floortime
We provide educational therapy practicing the theory of DIR, Developmental, Individual differences, and Relationship-based and we use Floortime. The Floortime model is designed for children who have a developmental delay or a diagnosis of an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). ASDs include Autism, Asperger Syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Not Otherwise Specified (PDDNOS).
Advanced Community Education provides the opportunity for you to work with your child in the home to encourage growth in all areas of development. Floortime is a practical, home-based, and family-friendly program based on the DIR/Floortime model of Stanley Greenspan, MD, a nationally respected child psychiatrist. Based on the DIR, Developmental, Individual, and Relationships theory, we teach parents and other caregivers techniques that are effective, fun, and useful in day-to-day interactions with their child. Your child needs time with you or an adult to work towards identified goals.
The mission of Advanced Community Education is to support transformation for healthy living by improving lives through use of words and building supportive and positive relationships. Through consultation and guidance, you, parents and caregivers, will be supported and educated in ways that will improve your child’s social skills, play skills, and language.
Once you are trained, children with developmental delays and ASDs can continue to be given support as Floortime techniques become incorporated into everyday moments and activities to help your child learn and grow. By incorporating Floortime into your everyday activities, you will feel confident that your child is learning the basics of attachment with the ability to relate to others.

Home/family Consultation Includes:
Through home visits, we will administer the Social-Emotional Growth Chart Assessment. We will return to the office to prepare a written report that includes suggested activities.
Through home visits, we will provide Parent/Caregiver Training on using relationship-play-based techniques to teach your child. We will occasionally videotape the parent/caregiver and child interactions. We will prepare monthly written evaluations and feedback between home visits.
Online communication and learning tools using Moodle will be available.
We will provide assistance with IFSP or IEP goals and consult and collaborate with other Service Providers.
School/Child Care Setting Consultation includes:
