About the Trainers
Debbie is a mother, a creator, an artist, an educator, a community and family advocate who, while raising four children, has worked in the field of children and families for well over 30 years. She lives near Boston, Massachusetts. Smile!
Debbie coaches and teaches strategies to help children thrive. Her clinical experience includes working with families as a Developmental Specialist with families with children under age three providing support and coaching to caregivers and their children in the areas of language and communication, overall development, cognitive skills, physical and occupational therapies, social and emotional behaviors, perceptual motor skills and learning styles. She coaches and teaches the Nurtured Heart Approach(R) through individual coaching, 7 hour workshops, 6 week home/community parties. Workshops are available in English and Spanish.
Debbie has earned a Master Degree in Education, Special Education grades K – 12, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Education Leadership in Administration, Curriculum, and Assessment. She held NH Highly Qualified certification as an Experienced Educator with Endorsements in Early Childhood Education, General Special Education K – 12, and Special Education Administration.
The ideas of Advanced Community Education is a result of her entrepreneurial experience as owner/operator of the Zeeum, A Children’s Museum and School, in NH, a private children’s museum where children play and learn. Her broad experience of teaching includes infant, toddler, preschool, elementary, middle school/high school students, and adults.
Debbie’s work as a community engagement director promoted collaboration across fields of mental health, medical, education, child care providers, business sector, and community services. She is a Certified as an Advanced Trainer of The Nurtured Heart Approach(R) and has advanced training in Developmental, Individual, Relationship-Based (DIR) theory and Floortime. Debbie continues to learn and improve. Life a process! Debbie volunteers to help others in a variety of settings.
Colleen Carrigg is Debbie’s 3rd daughter who lives near Sarasota Florida. She is a supremely aware woman who sees the light in all areas of life. She is a Certified Firefighter, a Certified Crossfit Coach, and now training for the triathlon. She is a Certified Trainer in the Nurtured Heart Approach who speaks from her heart and enjoys teaching others the methods to the Nurtured Heart Approach.
Colleen and her mom attended the Certified Training week in Tucson, Arizona January 2017 where they made some wonderful new friends and learned to juggle!
